Territorios Music Festival Sevilla takes place every spring in Seville, organized by a private company with the support of the local institutions and sponsors. In its first edition in 1998 and the next three, all proceedings held some element in common. For example, the first year the poster was dedicated to Celtic music while the fourth was dedicated to “urban music”. In its fifth year, the 2002 festival ceased to have a main theme, changing its name to “music of the people.”
The Festival Territories Seville has always been characterized by the combination of free concerts in central squares of the city (El Salvador, San Francisco and Alameda de Hercules, etc.) with paid performances in other scenarios such as the Monastery of San Jerónimo, Cartuja Auditorium or Cartuja Monastery (Contemporany Art Museum, CAAC). In recent years, the festival has become a much more eclectic festival where you can enjoy concerts by national and international artists of different styles.
Some of the groups or artists who have been in the festival are: The Chieftains, Talvin Singh, Goran Bregovic, Mogwai, Carlinhos Brown, Ismael Lo, Tortoise, Natacha Atlas, Nitin Sawhney and Antony and the Johnsons, among many others.
